New Version of Popular Scheduling Solution Also Features New Modules to Facilitate Expanded Service Requests and Asset Management
WALTHAM, Mass. on 27 February 2006
PeopleCube, the leader in on-demand Human Process Management (HPM) solutions, today announced the availability of Resource Scheduler, its web-based meeting room and resource management application, as an on-demand solution. Users now have multiple deployment options for Resource Scheduler: either through a hosted service provided by PeopleCube or via a standard software licensing model. The latest version of the popular self-service application now also offers two new add-on modules: a comprehensive Services module and an Assets Management module. Based on customer feedback, additional functionality has also been built into the new version, making it easier to reserve, manage and track shared resources.
Resource Scheduler joins PeopleCube’s current line of on-demand products, including the WebEvent event calendaring solution and ProcessCube, a Human Process Management application. As such, new and existing Resource Scheduler customers can now join other Fortune 500 companies that have already deployed PeopleCube on-demand solutions within their organization. On-demand applications, also known as hosted or Software as a Service (SaaS), provide a significant return on investment because they are rapidly deployed, and reduce the initial and ongoing costs associated with in-house systems, including software licenses, reliance on IT resources and upgrade fees. Further, as web-based applications, on-demand solutions offer expanded accessibility to internal and external employees and partners.
“The popularity of on-demand applications is surging in the marketplace because they provide a significant return on investment,” said Rebecca Wettemann, vice president of Nucleus Research. “They are particularly attractive to companies that want to leverage innovative technology without the initial upfront and ongoing maintenance costs. Now that PeopleCube’s Resource Scheduler is available in an on-demand environment, organizations can easily deploy the self-service resource management application to internal and mobile staff without increasing the footprint on desktop systems or relying heavily on IT resources.”
“PeopleCube is committed to delivering flexible scheduling and on-demand Human Process Management solutions that help organizations of all sizes better manage their people, processes and schedules,” said John T. Anderson, president and CEO of PeopleCube. “The availability of Resource Scheduler as an on-demand application, combined with the addition of the Services and Assets Management modules, illustrate PeopleCube’s commitment to lead the market by continuing to enhance our solutions as the needs of our customers evolve.”
The Resource Scheduler Services Module now supports a wide range of service requests in addition to catering, such as AV, video conferencing and security. With an improved interface and workflow, services can be requested either as part of an existing resource reservation or independently.
The Asset Management module for Resource Scheduler allows organizations to more effectively manage large groups of resources, such as chairs, tables, projectors, company cars, loaner laptops, and other assets generally stocked in large numbers or checked-out for extended periods of time. Using this new module, users can reserve a resource, which can then be checked in/out like inventory. This enables organizations to more effectively track, manage and maximize the value of their assets.
